Rain, Flowers, and Me

If you live around Middle Tennessee you'll know that's it's been on and off rainy lately with big grey clouds up in the sky all the time. As a photographer this presented a bit of a problem one night since there wasn't much of a sunset, just a gradual fade from dull grey to dark blue in the sky, plus, a lot of rain. But I was really craving a photoshoot and an outside one too. I had to protect my camera from the rain by putting one of my brothers hats (a baseball cap that had Spiderman designs on it. Yeah, I know what you're thinking, my camera must've looked pretty swaggy wearing such a cool cap, and yes, it did ) on it. There wasn't really any light to work with and every square inch of ground was wet and soggy so it definitely wasn't the Best Most Fun Photoshoot Ever but it did produce a few pictures I was happy with. Actually a few pictures I was more than happy with since they ended up looking a bit film camera ish, which is one of my favorite looks. Without further ado here are the few pictures I was able to get before the mosquitoes all attacked me and drove me back to my inside life away from the pretty flowers.

Florida Trip - Perdido Key

So, our mom and dad decided to keep our family vacation a secret until the morning we were leaving. Yes they dropped little hints "Wouldn't it be nice to be in Florida right now?" "We could really use a vacation" and such but we didn't think much of it. We woke up, dad said we were going on an adventure and after that it was whirlwind packing for a few hours and then we were on the road. They still didn't tell us where we were going until we finally drove up to the building at about midnight. Of course we weren't sleepy anymore and got so excited (we'd never stayed in a condo before) (and so excited like not just normally excited, excited to the extent I think we may have woken up a few people with our exclamations of amazement and squeals. (disclaimer: my brothers would probably not like me to refer to them as ever squealing so I'll just say I was the one doing the squealing. They were manly Ooh and Ahhing))
It turned out that not only were we at the beach and going to have a week long vacation but we were at the beach and going to have a week long vacation with our dads side of the family!! Which was awesome and we were about to run up to their room and say HI before a parent reminded us that it was almost one in the morning. Whoops. Anyways, here's some pics (I say some because I really should have gotten more but I was too busy relaxing so here's just a few) :)

Mini Road Trip

Pictures from our (Dad, older bro and my self's) mini road trip up to North Carolina. We got to fly in a helicopter, which was actually the main reason we were going on this trip, our dad had to fly a helicopter from one place to another and we were just tagging along. We stayed in a hotel (OMG so amazing!!! all sarcasm aside I haven't stayed in a hotel in almost three years and it was pretty awesome) We ate chexmix and drank tons of coffee and wore cool sunglasses and well, yeah it was just really fun and epic. PLUS when we woke up in the hotel it just so happened to be my birthday (15) and we flew home and mom had made my favorite cupcakes for me and put these cute little labels in them. Then the next day I woke up and got to have a shopping day with my best friend (sorry, no pictures of that, was way too busy trying on clothes and giggling) So, yeah, I mean, omg, it was the best birthday ever!! Here's to another year of being me!;)
